Host of the Seat Show on Accra-based Net2TV Kwaku Annan has alleged that the former Inspector General of Police (IGP) is aware of the Nigerian criminals who are involved in various crimes in Ghana.
According to him, the criminals pay a number of top Police Officers every month and therefore although they are known, they are not apprehended.
“These notorious criminals pay some officers under your watch. They pay them every month and some even take as high as GHC 10,000 every month from these criminals,” he alleged on “The Seat” show.
“Former IGP, David Appeatu’s administration you know these criminals, former IGP David Appeatu you know these notorious criminals whose name I will be mentioning. What did you do and these armed robbers still hide in the confines of our republic? Ghana Police tell me you don’t know that every weekend if you go to places in Kwabenya these Nigerians at night, are engaged in a competition displaying their Mercedes Benz. They also display their guns every Saturday,” he alleged.
He wondered why the Police hasn’t been able to arrest these criminals when they have intelligence on their activities adding that the criminals have used the name of Ghana to dupe Multinationals and taken monies.
Disclosing the identity of the criminals, he said their ring leader was Odugba Benson, Efe Odugba and the third person’s name is Innocent. He mentioned that another set of Nigerians who are engaged in criminal activities are the people who belong to the “Great Men Progressive Club” which the Ghana Police Service is aware of.
Kwaku Annan also alleged that Odugba Benson built the Third Avenue Police Post at GREDA ESTATE and was shocked that the service did not do due diligence but accepted that a criminal builds a police post for it.
