Some personnel from the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Immigration Service in the Bongo District were involved in an accident after chasing armed men who escaped into Ghana from Burkina Faso.
Preliminary Police Investigations indicates that the two armed men escaped from Gwelewangu within the republic of Burkina Faso and fled to a house at Feo in Ghana.
The Police got wind of their presence at Feo together with some officials of the Ghana Immigration Service moved in to arrest them.
However, upon getting to the house in which they had escaped to, they were told the two armed men had left.
The patrolmen pursued them to Adaboya where they spotted the suspected robbers on a motorbike coming from the opposite direction and bypassed them.
The Police and Immigration Officers upon spotting them had to make a fast turn in order to pursue the armed men but they lost control over the steer which resulted in an accident with occupants of the service vehicle injured.
The victims were rushed to the Bongo District hospital where they were admitted and are receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, Police is on a manhunt for 20 rounds of ammunition which was loaded in a magazine belonging to Constable Najah Elijah.
