The Kano State Hisbah Board has dispatched personnel to mosques in order to safeguard lives and property during Ramadan.
According to a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Lawan on March 23, 2023, in Kano, as reported by NAN, “Hisbah corps will be present at mosques during Iftar, Tarawih, and Tahajjud prayers to protect worshippers and their belongings from unpatriotic individuals,” said Dr. Harun Ibn-Sina, the Commander-General of the Board.
He added that those who engage in societal vices during this holy month will be punished, and that some young people who eat in public during fasting periods will also not be spared.
Mr. Ibn-Sina urged the general public to aid orphans and the needy in order to alleviate their suffering, stating that clothing, food, grains, water, and money could be donated to those in need.
