According to reports, a male 400-level student who is on internship has caused a female lecturer at the university to fall into a coma.
On Thursday, March 30, 2023, the student, identified only as Walz, allegedly asked the lecturer supervising his internship to help him get a better grade which the lecturer didn’t agree to, so he decided to beat her.
In response to her refusal, Walz allegedly became enraged and physically assaulted the lecturer, causing her serious injuries and resulting in her hospitalization.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Abdulkareem Age, visited the victim with other university staff and expressed their condolences, promising that justice would be served.
Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor ordered that the university would cover the victim’s medical expenses. This incident is unfortunate and should not be tolerated in any institution of learning.
